ABOUT

My name is Demi and I am a photographer and creative designer. I tell my stories by travelling the world. After graduating my Bachelor of Arts at The Dutch Academy of Applied Photography in Rotterdam in 2021, I kept on creating my own projects. 

 

My grandmother was born and raised in Indonesia and moved to The Netherlands in 1950. Thanks to the different stories about what life was like for her living in Indonesia, I developed a strong interest in different cultures. That is why I travel the world with my camera, to capture the way I see the presence of the cultures in these surroundings. Like the Hibiscus on the different islands of Hawaii, the surfboards resting on benches in Ericeira (Portugal) or the freedom of being Outside in the Dolomites. 

 

In 2021 I launched my first book of project 'Ericeira ~ The City of Surf' and in 2023 my Project Box ‘Outside’ has become part of my bibliography. My work has been exhibited in several group exhibitions and a solo exhibition. It has also been featured at the book launch of GupNew magazine 2022 as I became one of the new talents of that year and in PF Fotografie Magazine 2023 as being one the debutantes.
